Did you realize that every time you hear the Tupelo Symphony play, you are experiencing a modern day miracle? The fact that Tupelo has supported an all professional symphony orchestra for over 40 years is next to impossible. If you have ever bought a ticket, you have helped this miracle to continue. The presence of the Tupelo Symphony in our community has made the Arts Advantage a reality in our schools. We all desire that our children have advantages. What could be more important than the Arts Advantage? Statistics show that students who study music and/or play an instrument make better grades than those who have no instructions in music or the arts. Please continue to support our efforts in whatever amount you can. We thank you for your support both now and in the past.

Steven Byess is a passionate advocate for the arts, much sought after for his speeches on the arts, music, music education and general education. He also wrote, co-directed and is featured in a PBS presentation entitled Count On It!, which is designed for children grades K-3, and shows the correlation of music to mathematics.
